Murray River Information

The Murray river is the longest river situated in Australia. It is  2,375 kilometres  in length, and  ascends in the Australian Alps, exhausting the western side of Australia's highest mountains and, for most of its length, wanders  across Australia's interior plains edging  between New South Wales and Victoria as it flows to the northwest, before turning south for its final 500 kilometres  or so into South Australia, before clearing at Lake Alexandrina.
