Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week

Airlie Beach Race Week is a week long yachting show, a world class event with lots of activities, on and off water for competitors and audience to enjoy. This year's event has already catched the attention of over 120 racing yachts, with more than 1000 crew and viewers anticipated  to flock to Airlie Beach for the fun experience. Keep an eye out for the events on the social calendar with daily live music in the race area from around 4pm onwards, and special events like Fantasea Cracker Night on Friday or the Airlie Beach Hotel Reggae Party on Saturday.

Great Barrier Feast Food and Wine Series

The Great Barrier Feast Series contains three exclusive table events for chef’s, being held throughout 2010, promising to display the finest food and wine within a world class setting. Each eventcomprises of Q&A sessions to ask your favorite chefs for professional tips. Then go behind the scenes for the showcase dinner, and observe as a world-renowned chef prepares your evening meal, step-by-step.

Hilly Half Marathon

Hit the long-distance running track and be applauded by the mobs on the annual Hilly Half Marathon. Held each May, the challenging Hilly Half Marathon follow road, fire trails and walking tracks through Hamilton Island’s rolling interiors. Following a rough 21-kilometre route uphill and down vale, the marathon puts individual and team relay competitors to the test. There are prizes for place winners, spot prizes and a less challenging kids run for fun.
