Carnarvon National Park

carnarvon national parkThe Carnarvon National Park, was discovered in 1844 by Ludwig Leichhardt, who called it Ruined Castle Valley. The most fascinating attraction of the park is the 30km long Carnarvon Gorge, with pure stonework walls mounting to heights up to 200m. In the main canyon, with a perpetual stream of water, there are trees of eucalyptuses, casuarinas and palms.

 

Cairns Museum

The compilation and displays in the museum include local history, native culture, mining natural history and other gatherings are available for viewing. A small admission fee is applicable but the museum is well worth a visit.
