Broome is a pearling and tourist town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, 2200 km north of Perth. It is situated on the traditional lands of the Yawuru people. The city is heavily influenced by the Asian architecture of the many Chinese and Japanese nationals that flocked to Broome to seek their fortune in the early days of the pearling industry.
